Coleman was born at Blackpool Lancashire. She went to Arnold School Blackpool as head girl. She scored all As on her A level exams. Coleman received a nomination for Best Actress from the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat announced at a Doctor Who press conference on 21 March that Coleman was the replacement for Karen Gillan as the companion of the Doctor after Arthur Darvill left the series and was to play the role alongside Matt Smith. Moffat picked her to play the role because she worked the best alongside Smith and was able to talk more quickly than him. But she's been more prominent on TV rather than in movies. Of all the roles Eva has appeared in, on TV shows like Dr. Maria Santos in All My Children and the detective Natalia Boa Vista' in CSI Miami are the two which are the most notable. The latter earned Eva two nominations for a 'Daytime Emmy. Also, she got to express her creative side by performing music. Eva is an entrepreneur as well as an actor. Three times married, she has a daughter who is with her second husband.
