She and her sister Adria were adopted by Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone was introduced to gymnastics by her daycare instructor Aimee Borman, when she was 6 years old. Biles stayed with Bannon's Gymnastix for a total of 11 years. Biles won the floor and vault exercises at the 2011 Women's Junior Olympic National Championships before going to the highest level of competition in 2011. She was the most dominant in her sport just two years later. What distinguished Biles aside was her consistency her vibrant personality as well as the high degree of difficulty she introduced into her workout routines for each of the four events: vaulting uneven bars balance beam as well as floor exercises.
